I don't know the handles for the following people who have expressed interest in the past, but will email them to notify them that this is happening: David Hinds, Johnathan Bright, Evans Tucker, Arthur Sintef, Kevin Connelly, Nels Olson, Felix Sargent

For reference, I'm reposting the key info from out post on leadership, potential volunteers, and decisions made at past meetings reposted from the leadership channel, which is private. https://www.votingtheory.org/forum/topic/103/decisions-and-leadership-for-reference

Key Motions Passed in Council Meetings (all unanimous!):

Motion 1, v2: “To establish an independent organization with the purpose of owning and maintaining the online discussion forum.”
Motion 2 v2: “Move to establish and try to publish an online discussion forum based on the “NodeBB” forum software.”
Motion 3: “To do due diligence and apply best practices to protect and minimize the storage of PII of users, with these responsibilities explicitly delegated to specific responsible individuals trusted by the council/board.”
Motion 4: “Create a tech committee empowered to make non-controversial “technical decisions” on behalf of the group as needed, with the understanding that the council could revisit those decisions later if needed. The committee should consult the council on questions where the decision may be controversial.”
Motion 5: “Order of operations. 1. Pass bylaws. 2. Elect board. 3. Launch website.”
      Motion 6: “Adopt categories list”
Motion 7: “Adopt Code of Conduct, Terms of Service, Privacy Policy.”

      Updates:

Bylaws, procedural manual, and categories/tags list, privacy policy, code of conduct, terms of service, all adopted
      Site live: https://votingtheory.org/forum
Next meeting will be called as needed
Ivan and Eric have both volunteered to be a back up admin on the tech team and will get a follow up from Jack to get the run down on what that looks like.
Motion passed unanimously to coalition with Equal Vote and receive funds and pay expenses through Equal Vote account.

I have a lot going on this week related to burying someone who dedicated her life to the political struggle for peace and justice for all. Not that I'm constantly busy with it, but I could be called on to help with one aspect or another at any time and that is my priority.

I suggest you schedule the meeting even if I fail to give you a timely indication of when I will be available. Maybe it will work out that I can participate anyway.

Approval-ordered Llull (letter grades) [10], Score // Llull [9], Score, STAR, Approval, other rated Condorcet [8]; equal-ranked Condorcet [4]; strictly-ranked Condorcet [3]; everything else [0].

@jack-waugh I'm so sorry for your loss.

I think it's important that you be there, but we're looking at scheduling roughly a month out so we can make it inclusive and find a time that as many of the council members as possible (current and prospective) can make it. I know you are usually fairly flexible so hopefully we can find a time that will work for everyone.

I'm available pretty much any time with notice, but sometime, not yet exactly pinned down, in late April, there will be a memorial meeting and whenever that is set, that will be my priority for whatever date is set for it.

Approval-ordered Llull (letter grades) [10], Score // Llull [9], Score, STAR, Approval, other rated Condorcet [8]; equal-ranked Condorcet [4]; strictly-ranked Condorcet [3]; everything else [0].

About me, what I meant to say but maybe failed to make clear, is that there will be a date in late April when I will not be available but I am available almost any other time.

Approval-ordered Llull (letter grades) [10], Score // Llull [9], Score, STAR, Approval, other rated Condorcet [8]; equal-ranked Condorcet [4]; strictly-ranked Condorcet [3]; everything else [0].

[UPDATE: We heard from Connor and that date and time works for him as well!]

ORIGINAL POST: We've now heard back from everyone but Connor Frankston and we have one date with 10/10 of us available. (Jack said he's available anytime so didn't fill out the poll,) so at this point I think it's looking likely to be Sunday April 30th at 1pm-4pm Pacific. (I'm hoping this will be around an hour and a half, but who knows.)

I just sent out one last reminder email to the council to vote in the poll but will call the date and get this on the calendar on Wednesday. So consider this the last call to put in your availability here: https://www.when2meet.com/?19251532-2ZDgh

We'll definitely need everyone there for quorum, plus hopefully some new people signing up for some responsibility so please keep that time slot open!

@sarawolk Pacific Daylight Time, so UTC -7? So 8pm to 11pm UTC. (And 9pm to 12 midnight for me in the UK)

I think the When to Meet automatically adjusted for our time zones when we filled it out?

"Time zone: Pacific Time (PT). UTC -7. now 3 hours behind New York."
