I received e-mail via Action Network asking me for money for theoretically urging more States to join the compact to run around the Electoral College. (I certainly have no intention of sending the writers of the e-mail money and have little doubt that 95% of the money they collect is split among paying an Executive Director's salary, wages to a bunch of people whose only job is to craft more messages asking for money, and Action Network's fees.) In any event, the letter says, "The Electoral College was a compromise that tired delegates made without truly understanding the future implications. Now we can see the whole system is a disastrous mistake that could lead to the end of true democracy in this country." [their emphasis].

Just wrt the election of POTUS, which do you think is the more formidable barrier to democracy, the EC or vote splitting?

Approval-ordered Llull (letter grades) [10], Score // Llull [9], Score, STAR, Approval, other rated Condorcet [8]; equal-ranked Condorcet [4]; strictly-ranked Condorcet [3]; everything else [0].
