  I know, “him again.”
  I would love to converse about this. And I would LOVE to be talked out of (my view of) Democracy. I hope anyone can convince me otherwise… trust me, it would be a huge relief. Then I could focus on ranked choice, Borda or Condorcet as the key to saving the world.

  Here’s me: God did not come down and say, “here’s the rule book for democracy: vote every 4 years, electoral college, tricameral system, yadda yadda.” Making up rules to voting is putting the cart in front of the horse. The only thing that matters is that we all have equalness and this be converted into law. [see “Golden Rule’” any religion] So, there you are. A person, at her core, is a binary vote, 247, from cradle to grave. A leader, Oprah or Trump or You lasts if most of the people are happy (vote thumbs up). I have taken apart our decrepit antique engine of democracy, cleaned it down to its core and rebuilt it with only what is absolutely necessary so that it works as best as possible forever: Democracy.

  p.s. “Clean” law the foundation for saving the world. The cleaner the better. Real law starts with god (the equalness of all people) and is enacted by a specific and immediately accountable human proxy (a disposable leader).♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

  @gregw that’s a good question, I think that would be a contingency clause. I’m no lawyer and I don’t know much of anything about those or the limitations about how they can be structured.

  The governing coalition opted for open lists. Phragmén-MMP would be better because we generally like the idea of independent candidates.
  Though open lists are still better than MMP with runoff.

  @jack-waugh It's unfortunate that the spoiler effect occurred here. Still, the system is better than choose one, even if it has the occasional spoiler issue, which is so ubiquitous that trying to find it is like a fish trying to find water. It's also good that this website used a reasonable concept like Condorcet compliance to evaluate the election outcome. As long as good, rational arguments are being made, things are going in the right direction.

  @mendicant As I mentioned in another thread recently there is this score/MMP system, which I also made a video of.

  Basically, you give a score to all the candidates standing locally, and can also give a separate score to any parties or independent candidates standing in the wider region.

  The local candidate with the highest score (or STAR winner or whatever) is elected. Then the local areas are combined into one larger region for the top-up phase, A voter's party scores are given to all candidates standing for that party outside their local area. The rest of the seats are allocated in the most proportional way possible given those already elected. Probably using something like Phragmén.

  Works with approval voting too.

  The Alliance for Just Money may interest you.

  Their program:

  Require Congress to be the sole creator of all U.S. money debt-free.
  End the privilege of commercial banks to create money.
  Transfer all remaining operations of the Fed to the U.S. Treasury.

  Government creation of new money will be limited by an independent public agency whose only function is to determine how much new money, if any, should be issued each year (or withdrawn), adhering to a mandate to keep the purchasing power of money stable.

  This agency’s decisions will be based on economic data (most of which is already being collected) and citizen input. How that new money is spent, invested, given, or lent is up to Congress, which has the constitutional responsibility not only for creating our money but also for allocating federal government spending.

  Don't know if it would work, but it would give capitalists conniptions.
